
Alabama Announces 2024 Cross Country Schedule

UA’s annual Crimson Classic will take place in mid-October in what will be the Crimson Tide’s final regular-season meet
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama men's and women's cross country teams announced their 2024 schedule Monday. The slate includes a trio of in-state meets, as well as six competitions in Southeastern Conference territory.
The Crimson Tide will kick-start its 2024 campaign with back-to-back in-state meets, first traveling to Oxford, Ala., for the Foothills Invitational (Aug. 30) before heading to Huntsville, Ala., for the Southern Showcase (Sept. 13).
UA will close the month of September in Tallahassee, Fla., for the FSU Pre-Regional (Sept. 27) before traveling north to Chicago for the Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational (Oct. 4). The Tide will return home later that month to host the annual Crimson Classic at the Harry Pritchett Running Course (Oct. 18) in what will be Alabama's final regular-season meet.
College Station, Texas, will play host for the 2024 SEC Championships (Nov. 1), while the NCAA South Regionals will take place in Tallahassee (Nov. 15). Upon qualification, Alabama will close its season at the NCAA Championships (Nov. 23) in Madison, Wisc.

Recapping the 2023 Season
- Victor Kiprop and Doris Lemngole's individual successes led UA
- Kiprop was named SEC Runner of the Year for the second-straight season after defending his individual 8K title at the conference meet
- Lemngole was named Women's SEC Freshman of the Year before finishing as national runner-up at the 2023 NCAA Championships
- Both earned First Team All-SEC and All-South Region honors
- UA Men
- Finished second at the SEC Championships as an Alabama student-athlete earned SEC Men's Runner of the Year honors for the third year in a row (Eliud Kipsang – 2021; Kiprop – 2022, 2023)
- Saw a UA runner win the NCAA South Region crown for the second consecutive year (Kiprop – 2022; Hillary Cheruiyot – 2023)
- UA Women
- Finished seventh at the 2023 NCAA Championships – the Tide's second consecutive top-10 finish and the fourth-straight year with a top-15 placement
- Earned six top-four placements during the season as Alabama earned its fourth SEC Women's Freshman of the Year honor, and second in as many years (Ashley LaBudde – 1998; Dawn Boggs – 1999; Hilda Olemomoi – 2022; Lemngole – 2023)
