
Women's Golf Opens Play at the NCAA Regionals Monday

The Crimson Tide will compete in the Cle Elum Regional at the Tumble Creek Club
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama women's golf team is one of 12 teams set to tee off the 2024 NCAA Cle Elum Regional Monday morning. The Crimson Tide enters the three-day, 54-hole tournament as the No. 7 seed in the Regional that will take place at the par 72, 6,306-yard Tumble Creek Club.
The Cle Elum Regional is one of six regional sites that will feature 12 teams and six individuals, with the top five teams and the low individual not on an advancing team from each regional site advancing to the NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championships hosted by University of Texas at Austin in Carlsbad, Calif., at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa, from May 17-22.
With this year's selection, the Crimson Tide made its 18th consecutive regional appearance under head coach Mic Potter and its 25th appearance in the event overall.
Sophomore Mattie Frick kicks off the regional for Alabama when she tees off in the first of three rounds of stroke play Monday morning on hole No. 1 at 11:55 a.m. CT. She is followed by Kynadie Adams (12:06 p.m.), Elina Sinz (12:17 p.m.) and Harriet Lockley (12:28 p.m.) with Sarah Edwards (12:39) to anchor the Crimson Tide. Â
THE LINEUP
- Sarah Edwards (72.33, +0.63) enters regional play leading the Crimson Tide in overall stroke average and average vs. par
- Harriet Lockley is set to compete in her first NCAA Regional, posting a pair of top-20 finishes throughout her freshman season
- Elina Sinz enters the field ranking third on the team with a 73.33 stroke average and +1.63 average vs. par
- Edwards and Sinz each have earned starting spots in all 10 tournaments of the regular season
- Kynadie Adams will compete in her third tournament this season with a 77.00 stroke average this season
- Mattie Frick (74.33) rounds out Alabama's lineup in the event in her fifth tournament this season
TOURNAMENT PREVIEW
- The 12-team field is headlined by No. 1 seed Stanford, who is ranked No. 1 in the nation, while No. 2 seed Duke, No. 3 Arizona State, No. 4 Virginia and No. 5 San Jose State round out the region's top-five seeds
- The remaining teams in the Cle Elum Regional include: No. 6 Washington, No. 7 Alabama, No. 8 Virginia Tech, No. 9 Kansas, No. 10 Long Beach State, No. 11 Sacramento State and No. 12 SeattleÂ
