
Track and Field Grabs Four First-Place Finishes Concluding Day One of the Tiger Paw and David Hemery Valentine Invitational

The Crimson Tide will compete in 16 different events on Saturday in Clemson and two events in Boston to close the weekend meets
CLEMSON, S.C. – On the opening day of the Tiger Paw Invitational, Alabama track and field swept the weight throw and mile events behind first-place finishes from Chandler Hayden, Ruben Banks, Jami Reed and Arthur Graham, in addition to a Doris Lemngole third-place finish in the David Hemery Valentine Invitational. This is the fourth consecutive week Hayden and Banks have swept the weight throw event.
Reed collected the Tide's first win of the day in the women's mile after clocking a 4:48.40. Graham followed suit, collecting a first-place finish in the men's mile with a new personal-best time of 4:04.71.
In the field, Hayden tallied a first-place finish in the women's weight throw invitational with a 22.80-meter (74-9.75) throw. Hayden's mark is a new personal-best and improves her already second-best throw in program history.
Banks, with his new personal-best 23.88-meter (78-4.25) mark, took the crown in the men's weight throw, improving his second-best mark in program history. With this mark, Banks is the NCAA leader in the weight throw event.
At the David Hemery Valentine Invitational, Doris Lemngole, set a new PR of 15:04.71, breaking the school record for the fastest time in the women's 5,000-meter, finishing in third place.
CRIMSON TIDE TOP FINISHES – TIGER PAW
- Caelyn Harris (ninth | 6.11m | 20-0.50) and Miracle Ailes (tenth | 6.03m | 19-9.50) gave the Tide its first pair of top-10 finishes of the day in the women's long jump
- Harris' mark moves her into sixth all-time in program history
- Ailes' is now tied for eighth all-time in program history
- Mye'Joi Williams finished ninth in the women's weight throw with an 18.27-meter (59-11.25) throw
- Chandler Hayden returned a first-place finish in the women's weight throw with a 22.80-meter (74-9.75) mark
- Hayden's mark is a new personal-best and improves her already second-best time in program history
- In the men's weight throw invitational, Ruben Banks claimed first with a 23.88-meter (78-4.25) throw
- Banks' NCAA-leading mark is a new PR and improves his already second-best mark in program history
- Julian Collins finished seventh in the men's long jump with a 7.53-meter (24-8.50) mark
- On the track, Jami Reed (first | 4:48.40) and Lilly Walters (fifth | 4:52.26) returned a pair of top-five finishes in the women's mile
- The quad of Arthur Graham (first | 4:04.71), Kai Connor (third | 4:12.80), Knox Exton (fourth | 4:12.90) and Brady Barton (seventh | 4:17.64) gave Alabama four top-10 finishes in the men's mile

CRIMSON TIDE TOP FINISHES – DAVID HEMERY VALENTINE
- Hilda Olemomoi finished seventh in the women's 3,000-meter with a time of 8:50.07
- Doris Lemngole, with a new PR of 15:04.71, broke the school record for the fastest time in the women's 5,000-meter with a third-place finish
- Brenda Tuwei sets a new PR in the women's 5,000-meter with a time of 15:51.55
