COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Alabama track and field teams earned two more medals on the final day of the 2022 Southeastern Conference Indoor Championships Saturday at the Gilliam Indoor Stadium in College Station, Texas, bumping their two day total to seven.

Isaac Odugbesan got the Crimson Tide started on Saturday by bettering his own school record for the second time this season to win his second SEC indoor title in the shot put. He posted a toss of 20.71 meters on his third turn to secure his third consecutive SEC shot put title, adding Saturday's gold to his 2021 indoor and outdoor championships.
Hillary Cheruiyot earned a silver medal in the men's 3,000 meters to close out individual competition on the meet's final day. The Tide rookie ran a 7:49.00 to take home second place.
Alabama Head Coach Dan Waters Said
"I'm really proud of the way our kids fought to the very end today. We had some things not go our way this weekend and instead of getting down, this team went out there and got after it, working to make the most of every opportunity we had. Now we need to take the lessons we learned at this meet and use them to make us better as we head into the NCAA Championships in a couple of weeks."
