- Won the 6k race at the SEC Championships in the Tide's first individual win since 1993 with a time of 19:46.50.
- Awarded gold for the 5k race at the Florida State Invitational with a time of 16:50.3.
- Opened the 2020 Cross Country season with a 3rd place finish (21:14.4) in the 6k race at the Vanderbilt Commodore Classic.
2019-20
Indoor
- Awarded silver in the 5,000-meter run at the SEC Indoor Track and Field Championships with a time of 15:53.97. She also placed fourth in the women's 3,000-meter run with a time of 9:16.38.
- Finished first among collegians and broke the 5,000m school record with a time of 15:37.35 at the Husky Classic. The time holds the sixth spot in the NCAA so far this season. The Alabama school record was previously held by Jessica Fry with a time of 16:06.91, nearly 30 seconds behind Chelangat's new record.
- Traveled to the Indiana University Relays and finished first among collegiate field in the 3,000-meter run (fast section) with a time of 9:22.64.
- Finished fifth in the 1-mile run with a time of 4:57.95 at the Samford Invitational.
