Alabama Rowing Concludes its Fall Opener Sunday in Oklahoma

Lauren Lowe and Ella Maggio earn a win in the Women’s Open Pairs

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – Alabama rowing concluded its opening weekend of the fall Sunday morning at the Head of the Oklahoma, competing in the Women's Collegiate Singles and Open Pairs.

Four Crimson Tide rowers competed in the Collegiate Singles, led by a second-place finish from Darcy Jennings in 17:25.21. In the Open Pairs, Lauren Lowe and Ella Maggio won the race in 16:51.35 and Alabama finished with six pairs among the top 10.

Sunday's races come on the heels of a successful Saturday for Alabama on the Oklahoma River, including gold in the Collegiate 8+ and Novice 4+, silver in the Collegiate 4+ and bronze in the Collegiate 8+.

Next up, Alabama rowing will race against Clemson in Tuscaloosa on Saturday, Oct. 30 at the Head of the Black Warrior River.
