Alabama Rowing Posts Two Wins on Day One at Head of the Oklahoma

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – Alabama rowing opened its fall season with a pair of wins Saturday on day one of the Head of the Oklahoma.

The Crimson Tide was nearly 10 full seconds ahead of the field in the Collegiate 8+, posting a winning time of 13:31.90. Alabama's second crew in the race posted a third-place mark of 13:53.94, making the Tide one of just two teams to post times under 14:00.00.

Alabama's second win of the day came in the Novice 4+, with the Tide earning a convincing three-plus minute advantage over the field with a first-place time of 15:41.45 as the next-best crew crossed the line in 19:01.08. Alabama added a silver medal in the Collegiate 4+, with its leading crew posting a 15:18.41 mark.

The Tide concludes opening weekend Sunday with singles at 8:25 a.m. and pairs following soon after at 8:40 a.m.
