Crimson Tide looks to defend home turf against top-five Razorbacks
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – After suffering its first loss of 2020, the Crimson Tide (1-1-1, 1-1-1) looks to bounce back against nationally-ranked opponent in No. 3 Arkansas (3-0, 3-0). The match will be aired on ESPNU with Roger Hoover and Hayley MacDonald acting as play-by-play and lead analyst. First kick is at 2 p.m. CT. on Sunday afternoon at the Alabama Soccer Stadium.
In addition to defending home turf on Sunday afternoon, the Crimson Tide will be seeking its first win over a ranked opponent since the 1-0 victory over then-No. 5 Texas A&M on Oct. 18, 2018.
Last Time Out
- The then-No. 15 Alabama women's soccer team was handed its first loss of the 2020 season, falling 2-1 to the Florida Gators at Donald R. Dizney Stadium.
- Despite the loss, the Crimson Tide ended a 301 consecutive-minute scoring draught against the Gators, when sophomore Sydney Vincens notched her first career goal in the fifth minute.
- Vincens' goal marked the first Alabama goal in eight years when the Tide shutout Florida 1-0 in Tuscaloosa on Oct. 19, 2012.
- In the 62nd minute, the Gators found an equalizer from Madison Alexander and assists by Maddy Rhodes and Kouri Peace, to tie up the score at 1-1. Florida's finial goal and the game deciding sequence came in the 82nd minute when Kouri Peace and Kit Loferski found Alivia Gonzalez.

- The Razorbacks are coming off their first SEC regular season title in school history after matching a program record with eight conference wins.
- Arkansas was picked by the SEC coaches to finish at the No. 1 spot in the preseason coaches' poll and moved up six spots to No. 3 in the latest United Soccer Coaches poll Tuesday.
- Head coach Colby Hale leads the Razorbacks for his ninth season. Under his direction, the Hogs are coming off their fourth-straight trip to the NCAA Tournament and made it to the second round for the third time in four years.
- Last week, Arkansas took down then-No. 5 Texas A&M at home in a top-10 matchup, 2-1.
- Currently, the Razorbacks sit atop the SEC standings with nine points and are the only squad without a loss or tie this season in the league.
