Adam Bauman enters his seventh season at the University of Alabama and is in his fourth season as the program's director of scouting and analytics.
Bauman has been a part of Coach Oats' staff throughout his entire tenure at Alabama in addition to four years at Buffalo. In his current role, Bauman is responsible for a variety of aspects of the men's basketball program including but not limited to, overseeing the budget, scheduling, analytics, camps, advanced scouting of opponents, along with assisting the coaching staff on the offensive side of the ball. Bauman also spearheads "Bamalytics" in-game and during each practice to further break down the team's performances in every aspect of the game. Throughout Bauman's time in Tuscaloosa, the Crimson Tide have won 145 games, along with a pair of Elite Eight appearances and the program's first-ever trip to the Final Four in 2024. Bauman has also helped contribute to two SEC regular season championships and SEC tournament titles as well.
"I hired Adam while I was at Buffalo and I think he's one of the most organized, bright young minds that I've been around," Oats said. "He's grown over my time with him and he is exceptional is overseeing our scouting and analytics, which is something that is extremely valuable to us. Adam does a great job of breaking down film, evaluating things we are doing well and not doing well and is involved on the basketball side. He knows how we want things run and has been a big part of the success we've had."
Alabama - Director of Scouting & Analytics (2019-Present)
- Being at the forefront of analytics, Bauman oversees "Bamalytics" for Blue Collar Basketball which entails tracking blue collar points, in-game and post-game analytics, daily practice stats and advance opponent scouting
- Contributed to the Crimson Tide's No. 1 scoring offense in 2025, featuring six players averaging double digits in points per game
- On staff during Alabama's first-ever appearance in the Final Four during the 2023-24 season defeating Charleston, Grand Canyon, North Carolina and Clemson
- In his six seasons in Tuscaloosa, the Crimson Tide have finished No. 5 (2021), No. 4 (2023), No. 3 (2024), and No. 6 (2025) in the final rankings of the AP Top 25 Poll
- Assisting with offense, the Tide posted the No. 1 scoring offense during the 2023-24 and 2024-25 campaign in addition to the No. 7 offense in 2022-23, No. 13 in 2021-22 and No. 25 in 2020-21
- For the last three seasons in a row, the Tide set the program record for most points scored in a single season, scoring 3,335 points in 2024 and breaking the record in 2025 with 3,355 points
- Played a prominent role in helping Alabama basketball return to national prominence with a historic 2020-21 campaign that ended with a run to the Sweet 16
- In five seasons Alabama has produced 20 All-SEC selections in addition to a trio of All-America honorees in Herbert Jones (2021), Brandon Miller (2023) and Mark Sears (2024, 2025)
Buffalo - Director of Basketball Operations (2015-19)
- In four seasons at Buffalo under Nate Oats, the Bulls claimed three Mid-American Conference Tournament championships while also earning a pair of MAC regular season titles
- Made an appearance in the Round of 32 in the NCAA Tournament in 2018 and 2019
- In 2018 as a No. 13 seed, Buffalo pulled off the upset in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament defeating No. 4 seed Arizona
- Following 2018, the Bulls earned a No. 6 seed in the 2019 NCAA Tournament and defeated No. 11 Arizona State in the first round
Mississippi State - Video Coordinator (2012-15)
- Oversaw all video coordination for men's basketball at Mississippi State from 2012-15 while also maintaining the recruiting database
- In addition, Bauman was responsible for developing recruiting materials for the coaching staff, breaking down advanced scouting film, helping coordinate summer camps and assisting with on-campus recruiting
Santa Clara - Video Coordinator (2009-12)
- In 2011 the Broncos won the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament and finished with the second-most wins (24) in school history
