TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama softball opened Super Regional play in emphatic fashion, shutting out LSU, 7-0, Friday night at Rhoads Stadium behind a complete game one-hitter from Jocelyn Briski.
The seven runs scored are the most for Alabama (53-7) in a Super Regional game since an 8-5 win in the final game of the 2019 series against Texas. LSU (40-18) led off the game with a double before Jocelyn Briski (23-3) went on to retire the next 21 straight, striking out 11. Four Crimson Tide players had multi-hit games, with Jena Young driving in three runs from the leadoff spot and Alexis Pupillo blasting her 18th home run of the season.

From Head Coach Patrick Murphy
"Thank God for the weather, number one. We got it in and it turned out to be a really pretty night. The grounds crew did a hell of a job all week getting ready for this, so kudos to them. The crowd that came out tonight was incredible. Ms. Briski had a heck of a good night. I don't know if I've ever seen a Super Regional where the leadoff gets a double and then nothing after that. You all got to witness some really good pitching tonight."
