
Redshirt Freshman Pitcher Kailey Plumlee joins Alabama Softball

The left-handed pitcher was the 2024 Gatorade Tennessee State Player of the Year
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Left-handed pitcher Kailey Plumlee will join Alabama softball with four years of eligibility remaining after redshirting her freshman season at Tennessee.
A native of Carthage, Tenn., Plumlee was the No. 22 ranked player in her signing class and was also the No. 9 ranked pitcher and the No. 2 ranked player from the state of Tennessee. She was named the 2024 Gatorade Tennessee Softball Player of the Year after leading Gordonsville High School to its second consecutive state title behind a 28-2 record in the circle with a 0.99 ERA. She led the state in strikeouts as an eighth grader, fanning 313 batters in her first season pitching at the varsity level.
Plumlee joins a 2027 Crimson Tide roster that includes 14 returnees from its 2026 Women's College World Series semifinal squad along with five incoming freshmen.
