Football Keeps Rollin'
What an exciting weekend in Tuscaloosa! Between Family Weekend, ESPN College GameDay and a 30-14 football victory over then-No. 16 Vanderbilt, campus was buzzing! That win made it four consecutive for Coach Kalen DeBoer and his team, as the Tide improved to 4-1 on the year and remained undefeated in SEC play (2-0).
Our guys will look to keep the momentum rolling with two top 20 opponents on the horizon. First, the team will travel to face No. 14 Missouri this Saturday before returning home to host No. 12 Tennessee on Oct. 18 at Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
Hoops Season Right Around the Corner
Our men's and women's basketball teams are ready to tip off the exhibition portion of their 2025-26 seasons one week from today at the Ballin' In Boutwell event on Thursday, Oct. 16. Both teams are coming off NCAA Tournament appearances last season and will square off against Florida State with the women tipping at noon and men at 7 p.m. in Boutwell Auditorium in Birmingham. Limited tickets remain for both games.
Also, reminder about a unique event the night before the exhibition games as women's basketball will welcome fans to a team dinner on Wednesday, Oct. 15, at 6 p.m. Fans can RSVP purchase tickets to the event, which will take place at the Hilton in Birmingham and includes a buffet dinner, autograph session and the return of special guest Sarah Ashlee Barker of the Los Angeles Sparks!
WaitTime
You may have noticed that we added a new feature to the official Alabama app, which is specifically designed to enhance your fan experience. Starting with last weekend's game vs. Vanderbilt, WaitTime was implemented to assist fans with real-time queuing around our security perimeter, gates and concession stands inside the stadium. If you haven't used it yet, be sure to check it out when we take on Tennessee on next week.
Soccer Hosts Auburn for Power of Pink Night
Alabama fans are encouraged to come out to the Alabama Soccer Stadium Friday night at 7 p.m. CT for an exciting rivalry matchup vs. Auburn. We'll be celebrating Power of Pink night with the first 1,000 fans getting an Alabama Soccer Power of Pink hat. We look forward to packing out the stadium and bringing the energy to show your support for the Tide!
Head coach Wes Hart and his team continue perform well on the pitch coming into Friday's matchup having most recently captured a 3-0 road win at Missouri to improve to 9-4-1 overall and 3-3 in league play.
Also, congratulations to Gianna Paul, who set the program scoring record last month and was named to the 2025 Hermann Trophy Midseason Watch List. Pretty special honor for one of the best to ever play for the Crimson Tide!
Men's Tennis Hosting ITA Regionals This Week
Some of the top-ranked tennis players in the region will be in Tuscaloosa this week for the ITA Fall Regional Championships, hosted at the Alabama Tennis Stadium. The event, which will run from Oct. 9-14, features Division I programs from Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana with live results being posted throughout each day.
The rewards are big as the two singles finalists will earn automatic bids to the NCAA Singles Championship, while the doubles champion will secure a spot in the NCAA Doubles Championship later this fall. Good luck to head coach George Husack and our men's tennis team this week!
Cross Country Hosts Crimson Classic in Lone Home Meet of the Fall Season
Our men's and women's cross country teams are off to a fast start this season and head coach Dan Waters hope to keep that momentum going in the teams' only home meet of the season, the Crimson Classic, which is set to take place Friday morning, Oct. 17. National Coaches' Day
For the University of Alabama's student-athletes, a scholarship is even more than the chance to continue their playing careers and pursue higher education. It is also the opportunity to be coached, mentored, and inspired by dedicated individuals equipped with the resources, facilities, and support services to help them reach their full potential.
In celebration of National Coaches' Day, consider a donation to the Crimson Tide Scholarship Fund (CTSF) in honor of your favorite Crimson Tide coach. When you give to the CTSF, you can take pride knowing that your generosity is helping deserving student-athletes develop under the guidance of renowned coaches, compete for championships, and earn a degree from UA. Learn more and give at uactf.org/ncd.
University Spotlight
Now this is a story worth sharing! University of Alabama researchers recently discovered several ancient crab and shrimp fossils from central Alabama - including one they have named after legendary football coach Nick Saban.
The crab's official name is Costacopluma nicksabani, but it is referred to as the Saban crab, for short. It was great to see ESPN College GameDay feature the unique discovery in the "Grab Bag" portion of its show this past Saturday! Amazing work by our UA research team and well done on the name!
MDB Headed to NYC in 2026
Congratulations to the Million Dollar Band for being selected to participate in the 100th Macy's Day Thanksgiving Parade, which will take place in 2026. Our band was one of just 10 marching bands chosen from the pool of applicants for this prestigious honor. Way to go!
#RollTideFriday
I always love seeing the pictures of our great fans wearing their Alabama crimson and white around the country and the world. This week, we have a photo of Julie Daniels Davis with her grandsons in lovely Greenway Park in Hixson, Tenn., proudly wearing their crimson. I thought that was an appropriate photo considering our next football home game.
I also stumbled upon a cool photo from over the summer that was submitted by school of accounting professor Troy Pollard, who was proudly representing the Alabama script A at the 2025 Tour de France!
