Petra Sedlackova and Sara Nayar led the Crimson Tide, both earning a singles and a doubles victory
GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Alabama women's tennis team concluded the first day of the Debbie Southern Fall Classic on Friday with three victories. Petra Sedlackova and Sara Nayar led the Crimson Tide as the duo earned a doubles victory before both topping their respective singles matches.
Match Notes
- Sara Nayar picked up her first win at Alabama and the team's first victory of the season
- Nayar beat Jess Dawson of Furman in straight-sets, 6-2, 6-1, to move on to the second round of flight seven
- After dropping the first set, Petra Sedlackova battled back to win the second set at 6-4 to force a third round
- Sedlackova went on to defeat South Carolina's Kaitlyn Carnicella, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, and advanced to the second round of her flight
- Nayar and Sedlackova picked up their first doubles win of the season after downing Kate Sharabura and Scarlett Nicholson of Georgia Tech, 6-3
