
Men’s Basketball Faces North Carolina in 2024 SEC/ACC Challenge

The Crimson Tide and the Tar Heels will meet for the third straight season
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama men's basketball team will travel to face North Carolina in the 2024 SEC/ACC Challenge, ESPN announced Wednesday. The game is set for Wednesday, Dec. 4 at the Dean E. Smith Center.
It will mark the 16th meeting between the Crimson Tide and the Tar Heels in series history and will meet for the third straight season. The programs met in the 2024 NCAA Tournament, where the Tide defeated UNC, 89-87, in the Elite Eight at Crypto.Com Arena.
Facing The Challenge
- The two teams have met 15 times previously with North Carolina leading the series 8-7
- The Crimson Tide is 2-1 versus North Carolina under Nate Oats
- Alabama is 4-3 against ACC opponents under Oats
- This will be Alabama's second trip to the Dean Center and first since 1990 (then-No. 9 North Carolina defeated No. 20 Alabama 95-79
