Alabama’s Bencheikh and Hiser Set to Compete in NCAA Doubles Championships

The doubles duo will face Fiona Crawley and Carson Tanguilig of North Carolina in the Round of 32 on Tuesday
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. –– The Alabama women's tennis team's No. 1 doubles pairing, Loudmilla Bencheikh and Anne Marie Hiser will open competition in the NCAA Doubles Championships Round of 32 on Tuesday at the Greenwood Tennis Center in Stillwater, Okla. The duo will face North Carolina's Fiona Crawley and Carson Tanguilig at 6 p.m. CT.
Bencheikh and Hiser tallied a team-high 15 doubles victories on the season, which included 12 wins as the Tide's No. 1 doubles team. The pair currently rank No. 20 nationally according to the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings and will face the sixth-ranked duo Crawley and Tanguilig in the opening round on Tuesday.
Bencheikh and Hiser become the first Alabama doubles team to appear in the event since 2017 and the first student-athletes sent to the NCAA doubles draw under first-year head coach Jonatan Berhane. The two are the Tide's 15th and 16th players to be sent to the event with UA tallying a total of 16 selections.
