Women’s Tennis Opens SEC Tournament with Missouri on Wednesday

The No. 11-seeded Crimson Tide battles the 14th-seeded Tigers at 10 a.m. CT in Athens, Ga.
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama women's tennis team will face Missouri in the opening round of the 2024 Southeastern Conference Women's Tennis Tournament on Wednesday. The No. 11 seeded Crimson Tide and the No. 14 seeded Tigers will compete at 10 a.m. CT at Georgia's Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Ga.

The SEC Tournament
- After concluding the regular season on Sunday, the Crimson Tide will go head-to-head with Missouri in the opening match of the 2024 SEC Tournament
- Alabama enters the tournament as the No. 11 seed with an overall record of 14-9 and a 5-8 record in SEC play
- Missouri is the No. 14 seed and holds a 5-21 overall record and finished the regular season without a SEC win (0-13)
- The tournament begins at 10 a.m. on Wednesday and will run through Sunday with the championship match being played at 4:30 p.m. on the SEC Network
- Top-seeded Georgia is hosting the tournament at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex
- The winner between Alabama and Missouri will face sixth-seeded South Carolina at 8 a.m. on Thursday

- The Tide enters postseason ranked No. 30 in the ITA Rankings
- Loudmilla Bencheikh (No. 57) and Petra Sedlackova (No. 95) continue to hold a spot in the singles rankings, while Bencheikh and Anne Marie Hiser (No. 21) stay in the top-25 doubles rankings
- In the most recent contest, Alabama fell to No. 11 Texas A&M, 4-0, in College Station, Texas
- Wednesday's match will be the second meeting between Alabama and Missouri this season
- The Tide defeated the Tigers, 4-2, on March 10 at Alabama Tennis Facility
- Alabama took the doubles point in that match, as the pairings of Bencheikh and Hiser and Ola Pitak and Klara Milicevic won their matches, 6-2 and 6-4, respectively
