COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The No. 29 Alabama women's tennis team (14-9, 5-8 SEC) concluded its 2023-24 regular season, falling 4-0 to No. 11 Texas A&M (20-6, 12-1 SEC) on Sunday afternoon at the Mitchell Tennis Center.
The Crimson Tide battled on all three courts during doubles play but dropped matches in the No. 2 and No. 3 spots to give the Aggies the 1-0 advantage. Lucciana Perez and Jeanette Mireles defeated Petra Sedlackova and Anna Parkhomenko, 6-3, while Sydney Fitch and Nicole Khirin beat Ola Pitak and Klara Milicevic, 6-4. Alabama's No. 14 doubles duo, Loudmilla Bencheikh and Anne Marie Hiser trailed No. 4 Mary Stoiana and Mia Kupres, 5-3, when the doubles point was decided.
Texas A&M would go on to pick up three-straight singles victories on courts five, two and four, respectively, to clinch the match. No. 19 Nicole Khirin downed No. 102 Sedlackova on court two (6-4, 6-2), while Lucciana Perez defeated Pitak (6-3, 6-2) on court four to secure the match and Mireles beat Parkhomenko on court five (6-0, 6-0). Courts one, three and six were declared unfinished after the Aggies clinched the win on court four.
