
Chaise Campbell Earns Career Block No. 300 in Sunday Loss to Kentucky

The Crimson Tide falls in three sets to the 15th-ranked Wildcats Sunday in Tuscaloosa
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama volleyball dropped a three-set decision to No. 15 Kentucky Sunday in Foster Auditorium as fifth-year senior Chaise Campbell earned her 300th career block during the match.
Alabama (10-8, 2-5 SEC) led 14-10 at the halfway mark of set one before Kentucky (11-7, 5-2 SEC) rallied to tie it back at 14-14. The Wildcats moved ahead, reaching set point at 24-19, but the Crimson Tide made a late push with three straight points to draw within two. Following a Kentucky timeout, the visitors earned a kill on the next rally to win the set, 25-22. Similar to the opening set, Alabama found itself ahead halfway through the second, 13-9, before the Wildcats fought back to tie it at 13-13. The Tide was the first to reach set point, 24-21, but a resilient Kentucky squad scored three straight to tie it up at 24-24. After a combined three more set points, it was the Wildcats that ultimately took advantage with a 29-27 win to take a 2-0 match lead. It was all Kentucky in the third as they won, 25-15, to secure the sweep.
Fifth-year senior Chaise Campbell earned her 300th career block in the match, finishing the day with four blocks to push her career total to 303. Campbell was one of three Tide players with four blocks, including Kayla Keshock which ties her season high.
