
Alabama Hosts Auburn in Final Home Meet, Celebrates Senior Day

The Crimson Tide welcomes the in-state rival to Tuscaloosa Friday for a 4 p.m. CT dual meet at the Alabama Aquatic Center
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The No. 19/18 Alabama men's and women's swimming and diving team will host the No. 10/14 Auburn Tigers on Friday in the Crimson Tide's final home meet of the 2023-24 season. The meet at the Don Gambril Olympic Pool in the Alabama Aquatic Center will be streamed on SEC Network+ as competition gets underway at 4 p.m. CT

- The Crimson Tide will recognize 16 seniors/fifth years at the meet
- The Senior Day Celebration will be held following the conclusion of the last race
- Friday's meet will also serve as the Tide's Alumni Weekend as the team welcomes back its former swimming and diving student-athletes
The Competition
- Alabama continues to hold its top-20 ranking, entering the competition at No. 19 on the men's side and No. 18 on the women's side
- Auburn is also ranked in the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association December poll as the Tigers enter at No. 10 on the men's side and No. 14 on the women's side
- Charlie Hawke and Kaique Alves continue to pace the men's 200 freestyle with Hawke holding a NCAA-leading 1:31.30 and Alves holding a 1:31.97
- Both swimmers rank in the top-20 nationally in the 100 freestyle with Hawke's 42.13 ranking 16th and Alves' 42.36 ranking 19th, in addition to Hawke securing the sixth-fastest time in the 500 freestyle (4:12.91)
- Avery Wiseman paces the women's side with a pair of top-20 national times as she ranks 12th in 200 breaststroke at 2:08.24 and 20th in the 100 breaststroke at 59.38
- Freshman duo Cadence Vincent and Jada Scott also hold top-20 national times with Vincent's 22.10 in the 50 freestyle ranking 19th and Scott's 48.21 in the 100 freestyle ranking 20th
- Both teams have a trio of top-20 relay times with the men's team ranking fourth nationally in the 400 freestyle relay (2:47.95), 16th in the 200 freestyle relay (1:17.48) and 19th in the 400 medley relay (3:07.12), while the women rank 12th in the 200 freestyle relay (1:28.02), 15th in the 400 freestyle relay (3:13.95) and 16th in the 400 medley relay (3:32.67)
- UA is coming off a sweep against Kentucky in its last outing as the Crimson Tide remains undefeated in SEC dual meets
- Colten Cryer earned his NCAA Zone Cut on the 3m board (341.78) in the team's last outing as Grace Hurley secured an advancing mark on the women's platform (240.75)
- The performance earned Hawke SEC Men's Swimmer of the Week honors as Gaby Van Brunt was tabbed the Women's SEC Freshman of the Week
