
Alabama’s Tim Korstanje Earns NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship

Korstanje is the first UA swimmer to earn the honor since Derek Maas was selected as a scholarship recipient in 2024
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama swimmer Tim Korstanje was selected as a recipient of the NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship, the NCAA announced.
Korstanje is the first Alabama swimmer to earn a postgraduate scholarship from the NCAA since Derek Maas received the honor in 2024.
The NCAA awards $10,000 to 42 exceptional student-athletes as part of its Postgraduate Scholarship program. These student-athletes, representing winter sports across all three NCAA divisions, have demonstrated outstanding academic achievements, athletic excellence and leadership within their communities. Overall, the NCAA awards 126 postgraduate scholarships to student-athletes who have completed their final year of athletics competition.

About Tim Korstanje
- Four-time All-American, including second team honors at this year's 2026 NCAA Championships as part of the Tide's 200 medley relay team
- 2024 All-SEC Team selection
- Ranks fourth all-time at Alabama in the 100 butterfly (45.92) and sixth all-time in the 50 freestyle (19.26)
- Holds a 3.92 GPA and is graduating with a degree in economics and finance
