Alabama Rowing Travels to North Carolina for Lake Wheeler Invitational

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama rowing program's season continues this weekend in Raleigh, N.C. as the Tide will compete in the Lake Wheeler Invitational. The Crimson Tide will be one of eight schools racing in Raleigh, N.C., that is either ranked or receiving votes in the CRCA week four poll.

Alabama is coming off a weekend at the Big Ten Invitational, bookending the regatta with eight top-two finishes. The competitive weekend regatta featured six programs that were either ranked or receiving votes in this last week's coaches' poll.

Alabama will compete in 15 races across three sessions, sending out three 8s and two 4s. The 3v8+ will begin the Tide's weekend campaign in Friday's morning session (10 a.m. CT), followed by the 2V4+ (10:36 a.m.), the 1V4+ (11:12 a.m.) and the 2V8+ (11:48 a.m.). All three crews will race against No. 14 Duke, (RV) Clemson, Boston College, North Carolina and Washington State.

The schools will reconvene at the course for an afternoon session that will see five Alabama boats in action. The Tide's 3V8+ (3 p.m.), 2V4+ (3:36 p.m.), V4+ (4:12 p.m.), 2V8+ (4:48 p.m.) and V8+ (5:24 p.m.) will all compete against No. 8 Penn, No. 9 Syracuse, (RV) Clemson, (RV) Tennessee and Boston College.

Before returning home, Alabama will have five more races on Saturday morning (April 22) against the likes of No. 9 Syracuse, (RV) Tennessee, Georgetown, Navy, North Carolina and UCF.
