Alabama Rowing Wraps up Weekend at the Lake Wheeler Invitational

The Crimson Tide tallied three first-place finishes and seven of top-two finishes in the regular-season finale
RALEIGH, N.C. – The Alabama rowing concluded its weekend, and regular season, at the Lake Wheeler Invitational, bookending the regatta with three first-place finishes and seven of top-two finishes. The competitive weekend regatta featured schools that were either ranked or receiving votes in this week's CRCA poll.
Friday's opening day of racing was highlighted by the Tide defeating No. 8 Penn by nearly 13 seconds, in the Third Varsity 8+ race during the afternoon session. The Tide's win was the fastest time of all 3v8+ entries in the afternoon session.
Alabama would return to the water Saturday for the final day of the weekend regatta. Three Crimson Tide crews (1V8+, 2V4+, 3V8+) racked up respective wins against the likes of (RV) Tennessee, Georgetown, Navy, North Carolina, Syracuse and UCF.

"This weekend was another good weekend of racing and we saw all the crews take some good steps forward. While not perfect, we had several boats finish the weekend on a good note. We still have work to do but the lessons learned on the racecourse are helping us improve as we prepare for the [Big 12] conference championship."
