
Alabama Swimming and Diving set to host Texas and Ohio State for a Two-Day Tri-Meet

The Crimson Tide will host Texas and Ohio State Friday at 2 p.m. and Saturday at 9 a.m.
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama swimming and diving programs returns to action for its final home meet of the 2022-2023 season when it welcomes both Texas and Ohio State to the Alabama Aquatic Center. The two-day tri-meet will begin Friday at 2 p.m. CT and Saturday at 9 a.m. CT.
The Crimson Tide women enter the weekend ranked No. 6 nationally in the most recent CSCAA Coaches Poll with a 3-0 record in dual meets. The men's squad is currently ranked No. 14 with an identical 3-0 dual meet record in dual meets.

Nationally Ranked
- The Crimson Tide women's squad is currently ranked No. 6 in the CSCAA Coaches Poll with the men holding the No. 14 spot
- Alabama has 28 individual swims ranked in the top-25 nationally, including two No.1 rankings
- Alabama also has nine relays ranked in the top-25 nationally
- Both Texas and Ohio State also rank among the top teams in the nation
- The Longhorns are ranked No. 2 in the nation on both the men's and women's coaches poll
- The Buckeyes' women check it at No. 5 in the nation while the men are ranked one spot ahead of the Tide at No. 13
Fall Season Recap
- Below is a recap from each of the competitions from the fall semester:
- Both Crimson Tide squads opened the 2022-23 season on the road on Sept. 30, with the women claiming a 161-139 victory at Arkansas and the men defeating Delta State, 186-101
- Alabama had the first home competition with both teams earning wins against South Carolina on Oct. 15 for its annual "Power of Pink" meet to support Alabama Athletics' breast cancer awareness initiative
- The Tide swept the Gamecocks, with the men (179-116) and women (190.5-109.5) securing dominant wins
- UA hit the road again in early November to take on LSU, where the team broke four LSU pool records en route to the sweep (men won 155-139; women won 192-118)
- Following the trip to Baton Rouge, Alabama swimmers traveled to College Station, Texas for the Art Adamson Invitational while the divers competed ad WVU Invite in Morgantown, W.Va. Both events Nov. 16-18
- The women earned a first-place finish at the Art Adamson Invitational, while the men took second place. Charlie Hawke, Rhyan White and Victor Johansson combined to break four school records
