Fall Sports in Full Swing
In addition to football getting things going in Atlanta, our men's and women's cross country teams also opened their season last Saturday, with a pair of top-10 finishes at the Memphis Twilight Classic. With football and cross country joining volleyball and soccer, the fall season is truly underway, with more sports jumping into their seasons in the coming weeks, including men's golf at the Maui Jim Invitational in Scottsdale, Ariz., starting this Friday, women's golf swinging into action next Monday at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate in Lake Elmo, Minn. and men's tennis hosting its annual Four-In-the-Fall next weekend.
Football Home Opener
Saturday marks the start of the 2021 home slate for our football team with the Mercer Bears scheduled to visit Bryant-Denny Stadium. As we head into the weekend, there are a few key reminders we'd like to share with those of you planning to attend. All ticketholders are encouraged to download your digital tickets and/or parking passes prior to arriving in Tuscaloosa. This will help in streamlining the entry process for everyone. Also, since we know many of you will be visiting Bryant-Denny Stadium for the first time since the renovations were completed prior to 2020, we have listed several important items on our New in 2021 page that are worth taking a glance at. Look forward to seeing you soon!
Volleyball Wins Second Tournament
Our volleyball team won its second tournament of the season last weekend, claiming top honors at its home Crimson Tide Invitational. Congratulations to Sami Jacobs for earning Tournament MVP honors as well as Dru Kuck, who was named to the All-Tournament Team!
Alabama at the US Open
Our tennis programs are both represented at this year's US Open by current and former student-athletes as men's tennis freshman German Samofalov competed in the junior championships, while Alexa Guarachi and Erin Routliffe are rolling in the main draw of doubles. The former Tide All-Americans are in round 3 and should both advance today, would face each other with their respective partners in the quarterfinals. With a win on Saturday, Alexa is already slated for the mixed doubles quarterfinals. Best of luck!

University Spotlight
One of the newest additions to campus is Hewson Hall, which opened for classes this semester and will celebrate its grand opening on September 9. It's an incredible facility centered around a three-story atrium and is part of the Culverhouse College of Business. Our more than 9,000 business majors are fortunate to be part of one of the top 30 public business schools in the nation.
