The Crimson Tide welcomes the Tigers to the Alabama Tennis Stadium for UA’s annual breast cancer awareness match
TUSCALOOA, Ala. – When the Crimson Tide women's tennis team takes on the No. 14 LSU Tigers Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Alabama Tennis Stadium, Alabama will put aside its traditional crimson and white uniforms to don pink in honor of its annual Power of Pink match.
Alabama Athletics' Power of Pink initiative - started by former UA gymnastics coach Sarah Patterson in 2004 and expanded to include all Alabama women's sports in 2009 - helps raise awareness in the fight against breast cancer.
Head Coach Jenny Mainz Said
"We're proud to be hosting our Power of Pink match this Thursday against LSU. This match signifies the courage, fight and perseverance that so many have demonstrated in their battle with breast cancer. We're looking forward to competing with a tenacious spirit in honor of all those impacted by breast cancer. I have personally witnessed the bravery and heroism in my sister's battle."
