BOSSIER CITY, La. – Alabama soccer suffered its first loss of the 2021 spring season, falling to the Texas Tech Red Raiders, 1-0, in Bossier City, La., on Saturday afternoon.
It was a battle from the beginning, with the Crimson Tide trying to defend the Red Raiders' attack. It was a shot from Texas Tech's Kirsten Davis that would prove the deciding factor by game's end. Davis tapped the ball into the back of the net on a breakaway in the box in the 16th minute to give TTU the 1-0 advantage going to the halftime break.
Despite being down a goal, the Tide came out strong in the second half, earning nine corner kicks and firing off five shots to put pressure on the Red Raiders. The offensive effort was not enough as the Tide failed to find the back of the net, suffering its first loss of the spring season and snapping a four-game winning streak.
