Alabama Volleyball Heads to Knoxville for Two Matches Against Tennessee

Scouting Alabama
- Alabama makes its final road trip of the season this week, playing two matches against Tennessee in Thompson-Boling Arena
- The Crimson Tide will be seeking its first road win against the Lady Vols since defeating them in five sets in Knoxville on Oct. 8, 2017
- The teams split their two meetings last season in Tuscaloosa, snapping a three-match winning streak from Tennessee in the all-time series
- Following these matches, Alabama will close out the regular season with a pair of home matches against Ole Miss Friday, Nov. 26 at 6 p.m. CT and Saturday, Nov. 27 at 2 p.m. CT

- A late push in the fourth set of game one included a game-tying service ace from Sydney Gholson, the first of her career
- Laila Smith tallied a season-high nine kills in the second match against the Razorbacks
- Kendyl Reaugh hit a career-best .438 in the second matchup and led the team with 15 kills
- With both matches going four sets, each of the last eight meetings between Alabama and Arkansas have now gone past three sets
Alabama Adds Two During Fall Signing Period
- Alabama volleyball welcomed the two newest members of the Crimson Tide volleyball family this week, with Micah Gryniewicz and Morgan Rank committing during the November signing period
- Micah Gryniewicz is an outside hitter at Hamilton High School in Chandler, Ariz. She is a 2021 AVCA Honorable Mention All-American, two-time AVCA Phenom Award winner and 2020 Gatorade Player of the Year nominee after leading Hamilton to a 6A state championship last season
- Morgan Rank is a defensive specialist at Metea Valley High School in Aurora, Ill. She is a three-time AAU All-American and was named to the 2020 AVCA Phenom and Under Armour All-American watch lists
Abby Marjama Earns Her 1,000th Career kill
- In the Oct. 24 match at South Carolina, senior Abby Marjama earned her 1,000th career kill
- She entered the match 13 shy of the mark, surpassing it in the third set and ultimately finishing with 16 to put her career total at 1,0003
- After two seasons at UC Irvine, she joined the Crimson Tide last year and posted a career-best 285 kills over 22 matches
- She has 201 kill so far this season, averaging 2.83 per set
