
Alabama Ranked No. 14 in Associated Press Preseason Poll

Crimson Tide opens season on Nov. 9 vs. Louisiana Tech
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama men's basketball team will begin the 2021-22 season ranked No. 14 in the Associated Press' top-25 preseason poll, which was announced Monday. The Tide ended the 2020-21 campaign ranked No. 5 in the AP Poll, matching the highest ranking in program history.
The Tide is one of five SEC teams ranked in the top-25 poll, with Kentucky at No.10, Arkansas at No. 16, Tennessee at No. 18 and Auburn at No. 22. An additional two SEC teams received votes to be ranked: LSU (No. 37, 7 votes) and Mississippi State (No. 41, 5 votes).
Alabama returns its top two scorers and 10 letterwinners from last season's SEC Championship team. In addition, UA welcomes the nation's No.11-ranked signing class, which includes McDonald's All-American and 5-star prospect JD Davison, as well as highly-ranked freshmen Jusuan Holt and Charles Bediako.
Alabama's regular season schedule includes 10 teams ranked in the preseason top-25, as well as 15 of the teams receiving votes. Alabama will open the season on Nov.9 against Louisiana Tech. The game will tip off at 8 p.m. and will be broadcast on SEC Network.
Tide fans first glimpse of the 2021-22 team will come this weekend when UA hosts the SUPE Store Tide Tipoff Friday night at 7:30 p.m. CT (doors open at 6:30 p.m. CT) in Foster Auditorium. The Tide's lone exhibition game will take place this Sunday, Oct. 24, vs. Louisiana in Coleman Coliseum at 2 p.m. CT.
