Women's Tennis Splits Sunday Doubleheader Versus No. 30 South Carolina and Alcorn State

The Crimson Tide fell to the Gamecocks, 4-0, before bouncing back with the 4-0 win over the Braves
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The No. 47 Alabama women's tennis dropped its first match of the day to No. 30 South Carolina, 4-0, before bouncing back with a 4-0 victory over Alcorn State on Sunday at the Alabama Tennis Stadium in Tuscaloosa. The Crimson Tide moved to 12-4 overall and 0-2 in Southeastern Conference play after Sunday's results.
Doubles (South Carolina)
- The Gamecocks grabbed the first point of the match with wins on courts two and three to take the 1-0 advantage.
Singles (South Carolina)
- South Carolina moved through singles with three straight-set victories on courts two, three and four to take the 4-0 win.
Doubles (Alcorn State)
- Alabama quickly won the doubles point after wins from freshman Sasha Gorchanyuk and senior Alba Cortina Pou on court one and then from freshmen Isabella Harvison and Ares Teixido on court two.
Singles (Alcorn State)
- Alcorn State defaulted on court six to give Alabama the 2-0 lead. Senior Ann Selim and Teixido blanked their opponents, 6-0, 6-0, to clinch the win.
