Scouting Alabama
- Alabama is 8-2 in its fourth week of play, with six of its eight wins coming in three sets
- Friday's match is the final non-conference opponent for the Crimson Tide this season before opening up Southeastern Conference play Tuesday at Texas A&M
- Four of the next five matches will be away from Tuscaloosa. Alabama has only played one match in Foster Auditorium this season
- Six of the eight victories this season have been sweeps
- The Crimson Tide returns 11 players from last season's team, including starters Doris Carter, Meghan Neelon, Kaylee Thomas, Ginger Perinar and Hayley McSparin

Last Time Out: Alabama Falls to Kennesaw State in Four
- Alabama won the first set in its home opener Tuesday night in Foster Auditorium before Kennesaw State came back and won the next three, handing the Crimson Tide the four-set loss
- Alabama held off a late run by Kennesaw State in the first set to win, 25-22. The Tide made a late push in the second, drawing within three before the Owls answered with three of their own to win, 25-19, and tie the match at 1-1. Kennesaw State took a 2-1 match lead with a 25-14 decision in the third and edged out a close 25-23 win in the fourth to close out the match
- For the Crimson Tide, junior Doris Carter led the team with eight kills along with three solo blocks and a block assist
- As a team, Alabama out-blocked Kennesaw State 11-4 with five different Tide players earning defensive points at the net
- Senior Ginger Perinar had three of the team's five service aces, marking a new season high for the Channahon, Ill., native
Alabama Wins vs. Ranked Opponents
- Alabama has won eight matches against ranked opponents in program history, last doing so on Sept. 23, 2016 against Texas A&M
- All but one of the eight victories came at home, with the lone ranked victory away from Tuscaloosa coming on Sept. 7, 2007 against then-No. 13 Ohio in South Bend, Ind.
- The win over the Bobcats is also the only out-of-conference ranked victory
