
Alabama Women's Basketball Adds JUCO Transfer Brittany Davis

Davis led Gulf Coast State College to a NJCAA National Championship last season
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Brittany Davis, a 5-9 guard from Manchester, Ga., has joined the Alabama women's basketball team, head coach Kristy Curry announced on Wednesday morning. Davis will enter The Capstone as a sophomore after leading Gulf Coast State College to a NJCAA National Championship last season.
"Brittany is a proven winner most recently, helping lead one of the best programs in the country to a national championship," said Curry. "She is a dynamic scorer who can score at the rim, mid-range and shoot the three. "
In the 2018-19 season, Davis was tabbed the Panhandle Freshman of the Year, along with being named First Team All-Conference and to the NJCAA All-Tournament Team. Davis averaged 16.4 points and 4.4 rebounds per game in 32 contests in her lone season with Gulf Coast State. In addition, she shot 36.9 percent from the floor, 75.8 percent from the free throw line and knocked down 83 three-pointers which ranked No. 15 in the nation.
Coming out of high school, Davis put up an impressive 32 points per contest and 11 rebounds as a senior at Greenville High School in Georgia. She led the team to its first-ever state title, while also averaging seven steals and four assists per game to go along with shooting 51 percent from the three-point line. In addition, Davis was a McDonald's All-American nominee. During her high school career, Davis totaled over 3,000 points and was named 4A All Region First Team all four years. In 2018, she was named the 4A Female Athlete of the Year, along with being voted Most Valuable Player and Best Offensive Player each year in high school.
