
Alabama Hits the Road for Matches Against Ole Miss and Mississippi State

The Crimson Tide will take on the Rebels on Friday and the Bulldogs on Sunday
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama women's tennis team will be back on the road this weekend with matches against Ole Miss on Friday at 3 p.m. CT in Oxford, Miss., and then versus Mississippi State on Sunday at 12 p.m. CT in Starkville, Miss.
The Crimson Tide (12-6, 1-3 SEC) is coming off of a 2-1 weekend where UA upset No. 18 Kentucky, 4-1 on Friday night, before falling to No. 5 Vanderbilt 4-0 on Sunday and then bouncing back against Alcorn State, 5-0.
In singles play, junior Alba Cortina Pou leads the team with an 11-2 record, while sophomore Moka Ito is 10-3. No. 66 senior Andie Daniell is the only ranked player on the team and holds an 8-5 record at the No. 1 spot in the lineup. In doubles, juniors Kimberley Gintrand and Ann Selim are tops on the team with a 12-4 mark at the No. 3 spot.
Ole Miss has only played nine matches coming into Friday's match, while holding a 4-5 mark on the season. The Rebels are coming off a 4-1 victory over rival Mississippi State on Sunday in Oxford. Ole Miss is led by Tereza Janatova and Alexa Bortles who each have five wins in singles competition in 2019.
Mississippi State is 10-5 on the year and before falling to Ole Miss, picked up its first conference win of the season after besting Florida on the road, 4-3. No. 81 Emma Antonaki is first on the team with a 12-2 mark in singles play, while No. 113 Magda Adaloglou 8-6 at the No. 1 spot in the lineup for the Bulldogs.
