The Crimson Tide will try and rebound against Mississippi State on Sunday

OXFORD, Miss. – The Alabama women's tennis team dropped its road matchup to Ole Miss, 4-2, on Friday afternoon at the Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center in Oxford, Miss. With the loss the Crimson Tide falls to 12-7 and 1-4 in conference play, while the Rebels improve to 5-5 and 2-2 in league action.

The Rebels took the early 1-0 advantage after earning double wins on courts two and one.

After Ole Miss went up 2-0 with a singles victory on court three, Alabama battled back on court four when junior Alba Cortina Pou won, 6-3, 6-4, against Alexa Bortles. Cortina Pou is now a team-best 12-2 in singles action so far in dual match season.

The Rebels extended their lead to 3-1 with a victory on court five. No. 66 senior Andie Daniell picked up a victory on court one against Sabina Machalova, 7-5, 6-1, before Ole Miss closed out the match with a win on court two.

Next up, the Crimson Tide will continue its road trip when it travels to Starkville, Miss., to take on Mississippi State on Sunday at 12 p.m.
