BATON ROUGE, La. – The Alabama women's tennis team fell to No. 12 LSU, 4-0, in its Southeastern Conference opener on Friday at the LSU Tennis Complex. With the loss, the Crimson Tide moves to 10-4 overall and 0-1 in SEC play, while the win brings the Tigers to 11-2 on the season and 1-0 against league opponents.

In doubles, No. 11 Eden Richardson and Jessica Golovin defeated senior Andie Daniell and sophomore Moka Ito, 6-2. Juniors Alba Cortina Pou and Luca Fabian cruised to a 6-2 win against Anna Loughlan and Kennan Johnson. The point would come down to the matchup on court three where No. 57 Paris Corley and Taylor Bridges claimed the 6-4 decision over juniors Ann Selim and Kim Gintrand.

The Tigers jumped in front, 2-0, after securing the first singles point with a 6-1, 6-0 victory from Bridges over junior Jacqueline Pelletier on court three. From there, LSU secured the win with No. 12 Richardson topping No. 62 Andie Daniell 6-2, 6-3, and Golovin defeating Ito, 6-3, 6-4.

The Tide will be back in action on Sunday, when it travels to College Station, Texas, to take on the No. 24 Texas A&M Aggies in a match that is set to start at 12 p.m. CT.
