NEW ORLEANS – Alabama picked up its fourth-straight win, including its third away from Coleman Coliseum, after battling its way to a 66-56 victory over Tulane on Sunday inside Avron B. Fogelman Arena in New Orleans. The Crimson Tide (4-1) has now won its third consecutive non-conference road game, which is the best streak for an Alabama team since 2000.
The Tide was led by redshirt junior Jordan Lewis who was unconscious from beyond the arc, hitting a career-best six three-pointers on her way to 21 points and six rebounds for the game. Junior Jasmine Walker added 13 points for her third double figure game of the season.

From Coach Curry
- "I'm really proud of our team," said head coach Kristy Curry. "I thought we had a lot of toughness and a lot of grit today in a hard place to play. Tulane is really good, I think they're the best Tulane team I've seen in the last six to seven years, so I thought we did a nice job down the stretch. We had some critical stops in the fourth and I thought our kids stood up tall to the test."
Quarter-by-Quarter
- Alabama took control of the game early thanks to Lewis' back-to-back threes to make it 12-4 three minutes in. The two sides continued to trade buckets in the first as the score was tied 19-19 after 10 minutes.
- The tempo slowed in the second quarter with neither team scoring in the first four minutes of the period, before Walker drained a three to give Alabama the three-point edge. The Tide led by as many as six in the quarter before Tulane cut the deficit to 31-29 at the break.
- The score remained close in the third frame, with Alabama only being able to build a four-point lead. The Green Wave took the lead briefly at 43-42, when three free throws by the Tide made it 45-43 heading into the fourth.
- The Tide jumped out to a 50-44 advantage after Lewis knocked down her fifth three-pointer of the game at the 7:39 mark. Tulane bounced back to cut it to 54-52 with just under four minutes to go, when Lewis swished another three-pointer 20 seconds later.
- Senior Cierra Johnson added to the lead after she hit a three from the left wing, making it 60-52. Down the stretch, the Tide converted from the free throw line going 6-of-6 to put Tulane away, 66-56.
Player Spotlight
- Lewis went 6-of-7 from beyond the arc, which was a career-best for the Windermere, Fla., native. Lewis' previous career-high was when she knocked down five three-pointers two separate times.
- Senior Ashley Knight turned in her second-straight solid performance, totaling seven points, four rebounds and three blocks. Knight is now only eight blocks away from becoming UA's career blocks leader.
