Alabama Soccer to Close Out Regular Season with Home Match Against Vanderbilt

The Crimson Tide will play the Commodores at 7:30 p.m. CT
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama soccer team will finish out the regular season by hosting the Vanderbilt Commodores Oct. 31 at the Alabama Soccer Stadium. Kick-off will be at 7:30 p.m. CT and the gamewill air on SEC Network's special whip-around show, where they will be providing coverage of all final seven matches within the conference. This match will also be Senior Night where our three seniors - Nealy Martin, Chloe Maize, and Alex Plavin will be recognized.
About Alabama
- The Tide has a current record of 9-5-3, 4-3-2 against SEC opponents.
- Alabama currently sits at sixth place in the league standings with 14 points.
- Junior forward Casey Wertz leads the team with 15 points (4g-7a). Wertz concluded the 2018 season as the team's top scorer with 16 points (8g).
- Freshman Carlee Giammona leads the squad with 50 shots taken, followed by Wertz with 45.

- The Commodores currently rank fifth in the league with 16 points, exceeding Alabama by only two.
- The Tigers ended its 2018 campaign with a 16-4-1 overall record, 8-1-1 in the SEC. Their season concluded in the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament with an 1-3 loss to Baylor.
- The Commodores lost in the quarterfinals of the SEC Tournament to Florida despite being the No. 1 seed entering the tournament.
- Head coach Darren Ambrose leads the team for his 5th season. Under his direction, he led the team to its first regular season SEC Championship since 1994 last season.

Approaching the SEC Tournament

- If Alabama's seeding qualifies them to skip the first round, it will be the first time since 1995 that this occurred and the third time ever in program history.
