Draws Set for Women’s Tennis ITA Southern Regional Championships This Weekend

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama women's tennis team is ready for the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Southern Regional Championships this weekend in Baton Rouge, La. Draws for the qualifying and main draws were released on Wednesday.

Tournament Info

Six players on the Tide's current roster will compete in this year's ITA Regionals, all six are in the main singles and doubles draws.
Three Alabama players are seeded in singles as freshman Isabella Harvison is the No. 7 seed, junior Moka Ito is No. 13, while senior Alba Cortina Pou comes in as the No. 14 seed in the 64-player tournament. In doubles, Ito/Harvison are the No. 3 seed.
In addition, freshman Ares Teixido, senior Luca Fabian and senior Ann Selim are also participating in the singles draw. The other doubles pairs include Fabian/Selim and Cortina Pou/Teixido.
The main draw of doubles will start the day at 9 a.m. CT on Friday and Saturday, followed by singles at 10:30 a.m. CT.

Player Info

Ito has two ranked singles wins so far this fall season, while Harvison and Selim each have a 2-1 record after competing in the Rice Invitational in late-September.
In doubles Ito/Harvison are 2-0, including defeating the No. 11 pair in the nation from Arkansas on Sept. 29. Fabian/Selim also have a 2-0 record on the fall season.
