Alabama Women’s Tennis Falls to No. 17 Florida, 4-0

The Crimson Tide will host No. 8 South Carolina this Saturday at the Alabama Tennis Stadium
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama women's tennis team fell to No. 17 Florida, 4-0, Thursday night at the Alabama Tennis Stadium.
The Gators jumped out to a 1-0 lead after capturing matches at No. 1 and No. 2 in doubles play. Florida's 23rd-ranked doubles tandem defeated sophomores Ann Selim and Alba Cortina-Pou, 6-1, while Kessler/Kuhlman topped junior Andie Daniell and freshman Kylie Moulin, 6-1.
In singles, Florida won three-straight matches at No. 1, No. 4 and No. 6 to clinch the match. No. 19 Anna Danilina defeated Daniell, 6-2, 6-1, on court one, and soon thereafter, No. 48 Josie Kuhlman topped Selim, 6-2, 6-0, on court four. For the win, Florida's Katie Kubicz defeated Moulin, 6-1, 6-4, on court six to pick up the Gators' sixth conference victory of the season.
Up next, Alabama will host No. 8 South Carolina at the Alabama Tennis Stadium at 1 p.m. CT on Saturday.
