TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama softball rounded out its signing class with its fourth addition during the early signing period, infielder Savannah Woodard from Warrior, Ala.
"We are thrilled to welcome a great young lady and her family to our Alabama softball family," UA head coach Patrick Murphy said. "We believe Savannah has the potential to be one of the best infielders we've ever had. She reminds us a lot of Whitney Larsen as she can play many positions well. Her athleticism is going to shine on the softball field."
Woodard attends Hayden High School, where she earned all-tournament accolades in 2015 after leading the team to a runner-up finish at the state championships. She is a two time all-state honoree, receiving first-team accolades in 2016, and has earned Blount County All-Tournament honors for both softball and basketball.
Woodard plays travel ball for the Birmingham Thunderbolts. She led her team with three home runs at the PGF Nationals in 2017 and posted a top-five finish in 2015.
Woodard is the fourth and final athlete to sign a national letter of intent with Alabama softball during the early signing period, joining outfielder Jenna Johnson from Franklin, Tenn., pitcher Alexis Kilfoyl from Land O' Lakes, Fla., and catcher Karla Hice from Ardmore, Ala.
