TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The University of Alabama football team practiced in full pads for two hours at the Thomas-Drew Practice Fields on Tuesday afternoon in preparation for this Saturday's divisional contest with Mississippi State.
The Crimson Tide will be faced with the task of stopping a Bulldog rushing attack that ranks among the best in the conference with an average of 226.9 yards per game. Not to be overlooked is State's defensive front, which ranks fourth in the SEC in both rush defense and tackles for loss. The two SEC West rivals will square off at Bryant-Denny Stadium at 11 a.m. CT on ESPN. Joe Tessitore and Todd Blackledge will call the game from the booth with Holly Rowe on the sidelines.
Alabama holds the all-time series advantage, 78-18-3, and has won the last eight matchups between the two squads. The Tide has also won the last four meetings in Tuscaloosa, outscoring the Bulldogs 125-44 over that span. Most recently, Alabama came away with a 31-6 victory in Starkville last season.
