Alabama
HEAD COACH Patrick Murphy
Opening Statement:
"First I want to say congratulations to Washington on a great year. Heather Tarr runs a classy program. It's fun to play against them. I hope we get to do a home and away with them in the future. Hopefully 2017 and 2018. It's just fun to play against them. They had some really good seniors on that team with some really good careers. Lexi (Osorio) was on today again. It's really tough to beat her when she's on. We had some big two-out rallies. Chaunsey Bell's home run was a killer. Dani's (Richard) was big in the last inning. I couldn't be more proud of my team. To do this 11 years in a row is unbelievable."
#8 Haylie McCleney, CF, Jr.
On hitting doubles this game: "It's a testament to the coaching staff and how much work we've put in every week getting prepared to come in and face great teams like Washington, USC Upstate and Fairfield. That was just a product of preparation."
#21 Chaunsey Bell, C, Sr.
On what goes through her mind when she steps up to the plate: "As Murph (Patrick Murphy) says, it's not about getting the hit, it's about hitting it hard every single time and the rest will take care of itself if you can hit it hard every time. I just go up there trying to hit it hard."
