DRIVE for Success - Career Development
The career development portion of the Crimson Tide DRIVE for Success program aims to provide opportunities for current student-athletes to gain exposure and experience in developing professional skills. DRIVE for Success staff assist student-athletes in developing a plan of action on how to best utilize their skill set in pursuit of career opportunities.
Major Exploration Event
Freshman student-athletes interact with UA advisors to learn more information about majors of interest and what careers opportunities exist.
Resume/Cover Letter Development
Student-athletes walk through the process of developing a professional resume, gain a better understanding of their career achievements, and learn how to market their accomplishments for professional opportunities. Student-athletes also learn how to create a cover letter, understand the primary use, and gather helpful tips to distinguish themselves from other candidates.
Career Industry Night
Student-athletes majoring and/or interested in a particular career field have the opportunity to gain valuable insight and advice directly from individuals involved in the respective profession, while also building connections for future networking.
Networking Night
Junior student-athletes learn the art of networking through practical application with former A-Club letter winner professionals who excel in their respective careers. Student-athletes learn about first impressions, professionalism regarding social media networks, dining etiquette, and creating a presence in a networking environment.
Career Fair Event
An event designed to promote connection between junior and senior student-athletes and employers from a wide range of industries in an effort to expand their network, build confidence, and nurture opportunities for professional internships or employment.
Polished Professional Series
Designed to prepare seniors for the transition from student-athlete to working professional, the Polished Professional Series provides valuable information and insight on relevant topic areas such as athletic and psychological transition, financial management, professional etiquette, job search strategies, and staying involved with UA.
Mock Interviews
Student-athletes have the opportunity to practice their interview skills and receive a constructive critique from individuals who conduct interviews within their respective organizations.
