Kiley Kukan’s first goal of the season was the game winner for the Crimson Tide
COLLEGE STATION, Texas – A late first half goal from Kily Kukan was all Alabama soccer needed Thursday night to defeat Texas A&M, 1-0, and earn its seventh shutout of the year and its third in Southeastern Conference play.
Alabama (10-1-0, 3-0-0 SEC) and Texas A&M (4-6-0, 0-3-0 SEC) played a back-and-forth opening half before Kiley Kukan broke the scoreless tie in the 44th minute with her first goal of the year. That ended up as the eventual game-winner, with the teams playing a scoreless second half as the Crimson Tide earned its seventh shutout of the year, including all three of its SEC matches so far. With seven shutouts this year, goalkeeper Madi Munguia is now in a four-way tie for second place in Alabama single season history, trailing record-holder McKinley Crone by three (10 – 2022).
