Alabama Defeats Oklahoma, 3-1, to Remain Undefeated in SEC Play

The Crimson Tide earns its third ranked win of the season, its second on the road
NORMAN, Okla. - Seventh-ranked Alabama soccer earned its third ranked win of the season and its second on the road to remain undefeated in SEC play with a 3-1 win over No. 21 Oklahoma Sunday afternoon at John Crain Field.
Alabama (11-1-0, 4-0-0 SEC) and Oklahoma (9-1-2, 3-1-0 SEC) were even with eight shots each in the first half and it was the Crimson Tide's final shot of the half that finally broke the scoreless tie. With less than a minute remaining on the clock, a deflection off a corner kick set up Presley Williams for her first career goal to make it a 1-0 game heading into the locker room. In the early stages of the second half, Zamorah Malinoski dribbled past two defenders and ripped one from the top of the box for her first career goal to make it 2-0.
In the 80th minute, a cross from Soph Martelli set up Larkin Thomason to poke one in at the right post to make it 3-0 with her team-leading ninth goal of the year. With just three minutes remaining in the game, a red card forced the Crimson Tide to play with 10 on the pitch and the Sooners took advantage soon after with a goal in the 87th minute, the first goal allowed in SEC play this season by Alabama. The advantage proved too little, too late as the Tide held on to win, 3-1, and remain undefeated in SEC play.
