
Tide Sends Five to Outdoor National Championships on Final Day of Regional Competition

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Alabama track and field concluded the final day of the NCAA East First Round by securing five berths to the Outdoor National Championships across five events.
Doris Lemngole highlighted the final day of the women's competition by breaking her own facility record in the 5,000 meters. Her 15:08.45 in Saturday's national quarterfinal moved her to No. 10 in NCAA history and No. 2 on Alabama's all-time list.
Additionally, Diamonasia Taylor's clearance of 1.79 meters (5-10.50) earned her a qualifying finish in the high jump. After fouling on her first two attempts in the discus, Joyce Oguama used a 56.13-meter mark (184-2) on her final toss to move into seventh place and secure her ticket to the national meet. Cynthia Jemutai's sixth-place showing of 9:47.30 in the steeplechase punched her ticket to Eugene, Ore., while Judith Mokobe rounded out the final day of regional competition with a personal-best 22.90 in the 200 meters, a mark that moved her to No. 6 all-time at UA.
