Former Alabama players made an impact in Week 4 of the NFL season
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The National Football League concluded Week 4 of the regular season Monday evening. Below is a look at how former Alabama players performed on the gridiron last week.
Atlanta running back Brian Robinson Jr. shined in primetime, scoring a career-high three rushing touchdowns in the Falcons' 45-24 divisional win at New Orleans on Monday night. Robinson Jr. totaled 62 rushing yards on 14 carries and added one reception for five yards on his only target of the game.
NFL passing yards leader Bryce Young shined on Sunday Night Football, throwing for 329 yards on 29-of-41 passing along with two touchdowns to help the Carolina Panthers defeat the Detroit Lions, 32-26.
For Detroit, wide receiver Jameson Williams recorded his first 100-yard receiving game of the season on SNF, finishing with 102 yards on six catches. Jaylen Waddle reached the end zone for the first time as a Bronco, tallying 35 yards on five grabs to go along with his score in Denver's 24-14 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
Kicker Will Reichard connected on all five of his field goals, tying a career-high in makes and attempts for the third-year Viking. Reichard was true from 47, 50, 33, 41 and 29 yards to account for all of Minnesota's points in a 15-10 win against Miami. The kicker's 12 field goal makes and attempts both lead the league, while his 42 total points on the season are tied atop the NFL leaderboard.
On defensive side of the ball, Quinnen Williams posted his first sack of the season in the Dallas Cowboys' 34-30 win over the Houston Texans. Williams finished the game with four stops, including the sack and a pair of tackles for loss, while adding one quarterback hurry.
Will Anderson Jr. continues to be a force off the edge for the Texans, securing at least a share of a sack in every game thus far. Anderson Jr. recorded five total tackles, including one for loss and half a sack, to go with five quarterback hurries in Houston's loss to Dallas.
At linebacker, Dallas Turner added a pair of sacks and a forced fumble in Minnesota's win over Miami. The third-year pro ranks second in the league in both sacks (5.5) and forced fumbles (2).
In the secondary, Jets' safety Minkah Fitzpatrick had the second-most tackles by a player during Week 4, finishing with a career-high 16, while also adding an interception. In the first half alone, Fitzpatrick tallied 10 of his tackles, along with his pick, becoming the first safety to record at least 10 tackles and an interception in a half since 2019.
Rounding out the defensive group was Green Bay safety Xavier McKinney, who posted his first sack of the year along with a season-high five tackles in the Packers' 17-14 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
