Football’s Simpson Garners Multiple Weekly Honors following Win at Georgia

Simpson earned numerous distinctions for his efforts in last Saturday’s road win in Athens
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson received multiple weekly honors following his standout performance at then-No. 5/3 Georgia last Saturday.
Simpson's week began by being named the Southeastern Conference's Co-Offensive Player of the Week on Monday morning. That same day, Simpson earned Panini Senior Bowl Player of the Week honors while also being chosen among eight quarterbacks as one of the Manning Award's Stars of the Week. On Tuesday, the Martin, Tenn., native picked up additional accolades, including being recognized as the Maxwell Player of the Week as well as the Davey O'Brien National Player of the Week.

- Responsible for three total touchdowns in the Crimson Tide's 24-21 win at then-No. 5/3 Georgia
- Ended the night completing 24-of-38 passes for 276 yards and two touchdowns through the air
- Found eight different pass-catchers on the night to average 11.5 yards per completion
- Added four rushes for 12 yards and a score with his legs
- Secured a pair of key first down conversions while adding a two-yard rushing touchdown across his four carries
- Helped UA finish with 397 yards of total offense and 25 first downs against one the nation's most feared defenses
- Played a major role in the Crimson Tide converting 13-of-19 third down on the night, the most against UGA by any team in the last 30 seasons
