Football’s Proctor Named Outland Trophy Player of the Week

The Crimson Tide’s left tackle was recognized for his versatile performance in the road win at No. 5/3 Georgia
DALLAS – Alabama's Kadyn Proctor was announced as the Outland Trophy Player of the Week by the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) on Tuesday. The honor is the second of the week for Proctor, who was previously recognized as the Southeastern Conference's Co-Offensive Lineman of the Week.
The Outland Trophy, celebrating its 80th year, was established in 1946 to recognize the best interior lineman in college football on offense or defense. The Des Moines, Iowa product was previously named to the Outland Trophy Watch List on July 29.

Kadyn Proctor
- Played every snap at left tackle against the fifth-ranked Bulldogs
- Graded out at a team-high 89 percent by the Crimson Tide coaching staff
- Did not allow a pressure or a sack on the night
- Helped keep Ty Simpson upright as the Tide offensive line did not allow a sack against the vaunted Georgia defense
- Added one catch-and-run for an 11-yard gain and an Alabama first down, barreling over multiple Bulldog defenders along the way
- His efforts on the play set up the Crimson Tide's final touchdown, which would eventually prove to be the difference in the game
