Football’s Hubbard Named SEC Co-Defensive Player of the Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Alabama's Bray Hubbard was named Southeastern Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday morning.

Hubbard shared defensive player of the week honors following a standout performance in Alabama's 38-14 win over Wisconsin on Sept. 13. The weekly honor is the first for the junior safety and the first for the Crimson Tide this season.

Played a key role on an Alabama defense that allowed only one offensive score and just 209 yards of total offense
The Tide limited Wisconsin to 117 yards passing and 92 rushing in the game
Picked off two passes in the game for a combined eight return yards
Added five total tackles on the day, setting the tone for the defense with each hit he delivered
In coverage, Hubbard allowed just one catch on five targets, earning a 92.0 overall grade according to Pro Football Focus, the sixth-highest grade among all defenders in Week 3
Also named the Panini Senior Bowl Defensive Player of the Week for his play against the Badgers
