
Women’s Tennis Lands Eight on ITA Scholar-Athlete Team

The Crimson Tide also earned ITA All-Academic Team Honors for the 24th consecutive year
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. –– Eight Alabama women's tennis student-athletes were placed on the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar-Athlete team, the most since the 2021 season, the organization announced Monday. Alabama has now placed at least six student-athletes on the academic list for the last nine years.
Four student-athletes receive the nod for the first time, including Maria Andrienko, Caroline DiBiasi, Priya Nelson and Maria Martinez Vaquero. Sara Nayar earned the honor for the second time overall as Margaux Maquet picked up her second nod at Alabama and fifth overall. Ansley Cheshire received the academic award for the fourth straight year, while Klara Milicevic picked up her third honor in as many years.
Alabama also earned ITA All-Academic Team honors for the 24th consecutive year after recording a 3.71 GPA for the 2024-25 season.
The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale). All varsity letter winners are factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.
In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a player must have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year and have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters (including freshman through senior year).
